Hook Lab Dashboard

Track every hook through Draft, Testing, Winner, and Retired—then group variants under Parent Idea to test them head-to-head in the Lab tab. Duplicate this template, connect it once, and it stays in sync automatically.

What this template is

This database is the single source of truth for your Hook Lab widget. Every hook you write gets logged here—platform, status, view count—and grouped into Lab tests via Parent Idea. Your Hook Lab widget reads this data live—no CSV uploads, no re-entry.

Sample rows included

A few example hooks are already filled in, including a 3-variant Lab test, so you can see exactly how the board and Lab tab populate before you add your own. Delete them once you're ready to enter your real hooks.

Property groups

Hook identity—Hook, Platform, Video URL.

Performance—View Count, Completion Rate, Saves.

Organization—Status, Hook Angle, Notes, Date Tested, Board Order.

Lab testing—Parent Idea, the self-referencing relation that groups variant hooks into a head-to-head test. Point a variant's Parent Idea at another row in this same database to group them; at least 2 variants pointing at the same root are required before the Lab tab shows it as a test.

Setup—four steps

Duplicate this template. Click Duplicate in the top-right corner of this page. It copies into your own workspace with every property already set up.
Create a Notion integration. Go to notion.so/profile/integrations, click New integration, name it, and select the workspace this database lives in. Under Capabilities, check both Read content and Update content—closing a Lab test writes the winning status back to your database, so read-only access isn't enough. Copy the Internal Integration Token—it starts with ntn_.
Connect your database to it. Open your duplicated database, click the three-dot menu in the top-right, go to Connections, and add the integration you just created.
Paste both into your setup page. Your integration token and this database's ID (the 32-character string in its URL, before any ?) both go into the Hook Lab setup page you received by email. Save, and your widget goes live. </aside>
